My Giddy Aunt

‘Oh my giddy aunt!’ is defined in Collins Dictionary as ‘an exclamation of surprise,’ and there is truly no band better embodying that spirit than Naarm’s My Giddy Aunt. The all-queer & neurodivergent indie rock trio have earned a reputation for their colourful and diverse musical palette, underpinned by memorable songwriting with plenty of heart, passion and more than a touch of whimsy. Inclusion and self-expression are at the core of My Giddy Aunt’s ethos and critters of all stripes will feel welcome at their high-energy live shows. The ‘delightfully charming’ (Dave Ruby Howe, JJJ Unearthed) trio combines the witty lyricism of singer-songwriters like Courtney Barnett with the punch of rock bands from years gone by and the genre-defying arrangements of artists such as Gang of Youths. The creativity and eclecticism of the group runs rampant on their upcoming debut album entitled ‘8 Billion Characters in the Worst Movie Ever,’ slated for release in 2024.
